Founded in 1948, this poster celebrates the 25th anniversary tour by the National Ballet of Cuba. The image is superb: two synchronised ballerinas set against a navy blue background – very effective & one of my favourites.

I found this poster in a distressed condition. It is a testament to the Conservators that they have revived the fabric of this wonderful design, now expertly resting on Japan paper. The areas of paper loss are clear and although for me that does not detract from the aesthetic, I realise this is a personal choice (most would disappear once framed under a mount). However, if this is a concern I do have another of this poster, unbacked and with only very minor areas of loss.
