Porsche 356A Convertible White on Black Background
Genre: Auto / Transport
Title: Porsche 356A “Two In One”
Size (cm): 27.5 x 42.5 [mounted 39×54]
Country of origin: USA
The 356, Porsche’s first production model & James Dean’s first Porsche, was introduced to the US market first in New York by Hoffman Motors and then in Hollywood by Competition Motors. The rest is history.
This poster was produced for the US market for use in the showrooms. It shows a photo and an outline of the convertible 356 with marketing tags below. Of note is the familiar Porsche crest, designed 1952, and emphasis on the “competition proved” 1600cc engine.
Originally printed on stiff card, the poster has been professionally cleaned and conservation mounted with a protective acetate sheet lying above. Overall, this is in good condition: surface dirt & slight dis-colouration, minor, age-related “wear and tear” restricted to the margins. It still looks great for a garage/showroom based poster 60+ years old.
