A large format aircraft recognition poster showing perhaps the most iconic of all British military aircraft, and one of the legendry “V” Bombers, the Vulcan. Along with the Victor, this aircraft provided Britain’s nuclear deterrent until the introduction of Polaris missile submarines in the late 1960s. Remaining in service until the mid 1980’s, the Vulcan conducted the longest bombing raid in history during the Falklands War of 1982.

This poster, marked RESTRICTED, was designed for display within the confines of RAF stations – very few survive today, particularly of this iconic aircraft.

The poster has a central fold and shows its age (see images) with nicks, creases and small edge tears stabilised on the reverse with light, archival tape. The poster is unbacked.
