A large format aircraft recognition poster showing France’s first jet airliner, the Caravelle. The aircraft used many design features and components from the British Comet, the world’s first jet airliner. In service from 1959 until 1972, the aircraft proved a commercial success, being operated by 90 different airlines across more than 40 countries.
This poster was designed for the military for display within the confines of RAF stations – very few survive today.
The poster has a central fold and shows its age (see images) with nicks, creases and any small edge tears stabilised on the reverse with light, archival tape. The poster is unbacked.
