A large format aircraft recognition poster showing the Mig-17, NATO codename FRESCO. The Mig-17 saw combat during the Vietnam war, achieving success against more modern US fighter aircraft. This surprising development led, in part, to the establishment of the US fighter tactics program, popularly known today as “Top Gun”.
This poster, marked RESTRICTED, was designed for display with limited circulation – very few survive today.
The poster has a central fold and shows its age (see images) with nicks, creases and small edge tears stabilised on the reverse with light, archival tape. The poster is unbacked.
