A large format aircraft recognition poster showing one of the legendry “V” Bombers, the Victor. Along with the Vulcan, this aircraft provided Britain’s nuclear deterrent until the introduction of Polaris missile submarines in the late 1960s. Converted to a tanker, the Victor played a crucial part in the air campaign during the 1982 Falklands War.
This poster, marked RESTRICTED, was designed for display within the confines of RAF stations – very few survive today, particularly of this iconic aircraft.
The poster has a central fold and shows its age (see images) with nicks, creases and small edge tears stabilised on the reverse with light, archival tape. The poster is unbacked.
