Taken from the GWR illustrated travel book “Somerset Ways” this scenic countryside lithograph was illustrated by Donald Maxwell (1877-1936). It shows two people walking on a path through the Cheddar Gorge. Printed for Paddington Station, London, this large Travel Poster is in very good condition and has been professionally linen backed. This Poster has two tears on the edge, and there is some minor wear to the paper in the corners and along the lower horizontal edge.
GWR posters are increasingly rare with prices to match. This is a rare poster by a designer who’s work for the railways has become increasingly collectable over recent years.
