A large format aircraft recognition poster showing the Meteor NF Mk 14, developed as dedicated night fighter, a role it performed until replaced by the all weather Javelin interceptor in the mid/late 1950s.

The Meteor was the first jet fighter in RAF service and the only Allied jet fighter used in combat during WW2. Although it was quickly superseded by newer aircraft in the post-war period, the Meteor holds a special place in British aviation history.

This poster was designed for display within the confines of RAF stations – very few survive today, particularly of this very iconic aircraft. This is exceedingly rare.

The poster has a central fold and shows its age (see images) with nicks, creases and small edge tears stabilised on the reverse with light, archival tape.

The poster is unbacked
